2020 Annual General Meeting
At the club's Annual General Meeting on November 30, 3 Directors were elected for 3-year terms.
In Board of Directors elections, Jen Bennett and Shamez Mangalji were elected for the first time. Helena Ruken was elected to a second term and will serve as Chair and President.
- Jen is the parent of 2 young athletes, a club volunteer, Professor of Sport Management at Humber College, and Chef de Mission of Team Ontario at the Canada Games 2017 and 2019.
- Shamez is the parent of 3 children playing in North Toronto Nitros programs including 2 in OPDL, is a lifelong soccer and hockey player, and works in the financial sector.
- Helena is the parent of 4 children including 3 daughters in Nitros programs, has been the Chair of the Recreational Soccer Committee, and founded the club Schools Programs.
Two outgoing Directors, each of whom had served on the Board for 6 years, were thanked for their service. Peter Ellement, a 15-year volunteer, was President in 2019-20 and has chaired the Competitive and Recreational Soccer Committee. Mike Ruthard,a volunteer for 11 years, was Treasurer from 2014 to 2020. Both Peter and Mike have 3 children who have played in North Toronto Soccer programs, and both have coached and managed teams.
