Nitros School Program
The North Toronto Nitros School Program is a partnership with school boards in the North Toronto community creating the space and opportunity for children and youth to develop and grow through soccer. The sessions build their physical, technical & tactical, social & emotional, psychological skills on field and off.
Program Objective
The North Toronto Nitros School Program's objective is to engage students and physical education teachers to lead and promote healthy active lifestyles.
Program Overview
Complimentary multi-week program to enhance soccer training for elementary students in the North Toronto community. The program provides instruction and guidance for students to develop and improve their physical literacy and soccer skills through fun games and educational activities.
This program is led by qualified and licensed Nitros Technical staff coaches.
Program Outcomes
Increase children's levels of physical activity
Improve teacher's confidence in delivering sport instruction
Increase children's enjoyment, engagement and confidence on field and off the field
Program Details
Location: Schools in the North Toronto catchment area; TDSB approved partners; TDCSB partnership
Where & When: During school hours in gym class from 8am-2:30pm
Duration: 4-8 weeks (dependent on availability in school)
Age Range: Kindergarten - Grade 6
