Tournament Rules & Regulations

To view the North Toronto Mini Cup laws of the game in PDF format, please click here.

The tournament is open to boys and girls teams in the U7 to U10 age divisions. The U7 division is open to recreational teams only, while the U8 to U10 divisions are open to both recreational and competitive teams. All competitive teams must be registered and carded by the Ontario Soccer Association, while recreational teams must be registered with the OSA.

A team's age division is calculated as follows: Tournament year minus player year of birth equals age division.

Each team will play a minimum of three (3) games, and all teams will be awarded prizes at the conclusion of the tournament.

As well, entertainment will be provided (clowns, face-painting, bouncing castle), refreshments will be available, and Eglinton Park is equipped with a playground and wading pool.

Each team is responsible for its own medical and liability insurance coverage. The NTSC does not provide this insurance.

All players must be registered with their club/district organization. The NTSC Mini Cup will only permit three (3) guest (outside club) players per team, as per OSA tournament rules. Guest players must bring written proof of permission to play outside their club/team, signed by an appropriate club official.  These “outside” clubs must be affiliated with the OSA and Canadian Soccer Association.

Each team may register a maximum of 14 players total.

To register, teams must complete the tournament registration form and send it, along with a cheque or money order, payable to the North Toronto Soccer Club. Post-dated cheques are not accepted. The application deadline for the 2011 tournament is Sunday, July 17, 2011.

Teams leaving their district must have an approved travel permit from their district, region or provincial association. Travel permits must be received by North Toronto Soccer Club by August 1. Any teams unsure if they require a travel permit are advised to contact their club or district association.

The NTSC Mini-Cup tournament committee will determine the number of teams in each age division. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Any team cancelling their registration after July 17 will forfeit all monies paid to the North Toronto Soccer Club.
