243 NTSC families support community players

NTSC provides soccer programs to as many local children as can be accomodated, regardless of ability to pay.  In 2011 the club covered all or part of the fees of over 170 players.  This was made possible by generous contributions from 243 families, supplemented by corporate funding.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all who supported this endeavour.  NTSC particularly appreciates the dedication of volunteer Eric Green who initiated the House League sponsored player program in 2010, and has coordinated with the TDSB and the supportive families of the players during the past 2 years.

  Uniform Buddies

Soccer players in Colombia with uniforms donated by NTSC teams and delivered by one of our parent volunteers, Jaime Aronowitz.  Over 100 sets of 2011 uniforms have been delivered, with current shipments going to Cuba, Mexico, Kenya and South Africa.  More photos and additional information about the program are here.  Thank you to the House League teams that donated their uniforms at the end of the season, the volunteers who washed, packed and delivered them, and especially to Susan Baskin and Dave MacLeod who have developed and managed the Uniform Buddies program.

Respect in Soccer  On-Line Course

The Ontario Soccer Association and the North Toronto Soccer Club are committed to promoting positive behaviour on and off the soccer field through the support of Coaches, Parents, Players, Volunteers and Officials. Respect is the communal responsibility of each participant in soccer to create an environment that is both safe and enjoyable for all who take part.

This on-line education tool will help Coaches and Parents identify practices that are unacceptable and acceptable around the soccer field. The program is Canada's only on-line bullying, abuse, harassment and neglect prevention program for Coaches and community leaders. Respect in Soccer has been developed in consultation with the Canadian Red Cross to protect youth, inform leaders, and mitigate an organization's liability.
