A History of NTSC

The NTSC has expanded remarkably since its humble beginnings in 1983. What began as a small recreational program for local children based entirely in one location has evolved into a multi-faceted league offering a diverse selection of soccer programs to participants of all ages, genders and skill levels. What has remained the same has been our commitment to providing all players with a rewarding, enjoyable soccer-playing experience tailored to their level of interest and ability.

Here are some significant milestones in the Club's history:

1983 – NTSC is established as an intramural, not-for-profit community organization administered by parent volunteers, offering a recreational house league program for local children, based in Eglinton Park.

1985 – NTSC introduces its “select” program, offering dedicated and skilled players a chance to represent the Club in external competitions.

1992 – NTSC utilizes Forest Hill Memorial Park for the first time.

1994 – NTSC introduces its “rep” program of competitive, travelling teams.

1996 – NTSC first offers its all-girls house league divisions in house league, providing girls in the North Toronto community an opportunity to participate in team sport throughout their childhood years. The all-girls divisions were progressively expanded to provide places for girls in the U6 to U18 divisions in house league, as well as a full offering of teams in our competitive program.

1999 – NTSC is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization and unveils its new website at www.ntsoccer.com.

2002 – NTSC introduces its indoor house league program.

2007 – NTSC introduces its outdoor rec league, for overage players wishing to continue their participation in organized soccer.

2008 – NTSC marks its 25th anniversary, while also introducing its indoor co-ed adult league.

2009 - Under-4 players are provided with spring and summer programs

2010 - The new club website is launched.

2010 - The Learn-to-Play format is introduced for the Under-4 and Under-5 ages, with a young adult member of the technical staff assigned to each team.

We look forward to continue making history when it comes to giving as many players as possible the chance to enjoy everything that the game of soccer has to offer.
