Academy Philosophy & Objectives

“The North Toronto Soccer Academy creates an elite training environment that strives to deliver high performance coaching excellence to each participant. The academy is derived from a holistic athlete education model, fostering the development of the complete soccer player on and off the field of play”

• A holistic approach to youth coaching which strives to develop multiple dimensions of athlete development, encompassing a focus on the technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social aspects of playing the game of soccer.  
• To allow children to play and develop according to their ability levels rather than age, thus ensuring that all coaching activity is developed with the aim of allowing all our young players to progress at their optimal rate.
• The creation of a dynamic learning environment in which young players are challenged to develop, refine and expand their soccer skill repertoire through daily ‘skill workshops’, combining coach instruction alongside video analysis of world class soccer players to achieve optimal technique development.  
• Providing a platform for active learning, challenging participants to take ownership of their problem solving and decision making processes in the context of game situations and group activities.  
• To ensure that academy staff, coaches and players work together to recognize and respond to each player’s developmental needs.
• To challenge, motivate and inspire participants within a pressure free learning environment, seeking to transition young players into being "scholars of the game".
